BREAKING: Fire guts World Trade Centre, Abuja

Fire on Monday gutted a section of the World Trade Centre building located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

An eyewitness told The PUNCH that the fire started from the top of the skyscraper which dots the skyline of Central Business District, Abuja as smoke billowed from the pinnacle.

First responders including firefighters have since been drafted to the incident scene.

Since it began in 1939 in New York, United States, the World Trade Centre brand has since become global trade hubs in more than 90 countries including Nigeria.

Breaking: Nelson Mandela’s Daughter Zindzi Dies at 59

Zindzi Mandela, the daughter of South Africa’s anti-apartheid icons Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, has died.

She died in Johannesburg on Monday morning aged 59.

The death has been confirmed by a family source.

She was the South African ambassador to Denmark at the time of her death. The cause of her death was not immediately revealed.

She was Nelson Mandela’s sixth child and his second with Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

EFCC: Magu worked for Osinbajo, Tinubu, they are his godfathers – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has alleged that Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, worked for Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu while in office.

He insisted that Osinbajo and Tinubu are the two godfathers of Magu.

Fani-Kayode also claimed that Magu never worked for President Muhammadu Buhari while in office.

According to him, what is happening to Magu, who is being held at the Police headquarters, Abuja, over allegations of lack of transparency in managing recovered assets and mismanagement of the EFCC, was planned years ago.

Fani-Kayode said this in a tweet on his official Twitter handle on Sunday night.

He said: “What is happening to Magu today was planned years ago.

“The real target is not Magu but those he worked for and protected for the last 4 years.

“He NEVER worked for Buhari. He worked for Tinubu & Osinbajo.

“When they finish crushing him, they will move against his two godfathers.”

Magu is expected to reappear before the Justice Ayo Salami probe panel on Monday, to defend himself against several other allegations.
