The 7 types of intelligence you actually need for real life aren't the ones you get graded on in school. Forget IQ. These are the ones that decide whether your work, relationships, and money actually work.

First is self intelligence. Knowing what you're actually good at, what you're bad at, what triggers you, what you want when no one is clapping for you. Without this one, you chase the wrong goals very efficiently. Second is emotional intelligence. Not just being nice, but being able to sit with frustration, disappointment, and anger without blowing up your life. The ability to pause between feeling and action. That's what saves jobs, marriages, and friendships. Third is people intelligence. Reading a room, listening so people feel heard, knowing when to push and when to back off, building trust over time. You can be brilliant alone, but almost everything important happens through other people. Fourth is adaptive intelligence. How fast you can unlearn and relearn when life changes the rules. Job changes, city changes, tech changes, plans fall apart. Some people freeze, some adjust and find the next move. That's a skill you can train. Fifth is practical intelligence. Street smarts. Figuring things out with what you have, solving problems without waiting for perfect conditions or perfect instructions. Can you make it work in the real world, not just in theory. Sixth is focus intelligence. Your ability to manage your attention, to go deep on one thing, to say no to distractions for long enough to get good. In a world designed to steal your attention, this is superpower-level. Seventh is meaning intelligence. Knowing why you're doing what you're doing. Connecting your daily grind to something bigger than just paying bills or looking successful. People with this one don't burn out as fast because they know what the effort is for. You don't need to be a 10 out of 10 in all seven. Most of us are strong in two or three and weak in the rest. The game is to know your strong ones and deliberately work on the one that's currently costing you the most. Which one feels like it's holding you back right now? http://www.silasmaisamari.blogspot.com/
